Nitric Acid is a colorless or yellow liquid with a characteristically pungent odor, corrosive and oxidising properties. It is a strong acid with the Chemical formula HNO3. It is also known by many synonyms such as Spirit of Nitre and Aqua fortis.
Obtained through oxidation of ammonia under presence of a catalyst, it is a transparent liquid in its pure form but turns to yellowing colour as it turns old. This colour appears as a result of the decomposition of Pure nitric acid into Nitrogen oxides and water.
It reacts with most of the metals, hydroxides and oxides to form Nitrate salts. Almost all the nitrate salts that are existing in the world are produced using Nitric acid as a raw material.
This acid has a variety of applications and is used in the manufacturing of:-
And many more…
SNDB Chemicals supplies high quality HNO3 of various strengths. We supply 62% pure and 70% pure Nitric acid. Both these products are manufactured by catalytic reaction of ammonia.
