Linear alkyl benzene sulfonic acid (LABSA) is arguably the most widely used and most important industrial detergent.
LABSA is a synthetic chemical surfactant used in oil soap, liquid soap, detergent powder, washing powder, cleaning powder, and detergent cake. It is prepared by sulfonating linear alkylbenzene (LAB) commercially. It is a chemical with the formula CH3(CH2)11C6H4SO3H or C18H30O3S. It is widely used due to its comparatively low cost and good efficiency. LABSA is also a biodegradable compound due to its linear chain and dried to a stable powder. It is soluble in water and an emulsifying agent. It is used as a detergent powder to wash clothes, cars, floors, etc.
LABSA is an anionic surfactant with hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups. This compound is non-volatile and produced by the sulfonation process. It has replaced the nonlinear (branched) alkylbenzene sulfonate (BAS) in household detergents worldwide. It is a corrosive chemical, and any contact with skin may cause burns and contact with eyes may cause ocular lesions. It can also damage the stomach mucous membrane if ingested, so avoid direct contact with this compound and follow preventive measures.
LABSA – Soft Acid Slurry is by far one of the essential products of the detergents industry and is produced globally across many countries. Due to its nontoxic nature, it is an eco-friendly compound which is the main reason for its wide usage and demand.
It is used in numerous industrial applications like:-
… and many more.
SNDB Chemicals supply high quality linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LABSA). We supply 90% and 96% pure LABSA, which dissolve quickly and give the best results.
